Cross Kenyan 15 days Tour

  2. Total Distance: Approximately 151 miles / 250 kilometers
  3. Approximate Off-road Distance: 81 miles / 130 Kilometers
  4. Elevation Gain / Loss:650 meters / 2133 feet

Tour cost: 2400 USD (Inclusive of bike rental, gas, lunch, and entry fees).

Day 1

  • Nairobi to Kisii-306Km
  • 99% tarmac
  • A very long day of riding through Ngong, Narok, Bomet and Kisii. Stop for lunch at Bomet, the Fair hills Hotel, before heading further East to Kisii town.
  • Proceed to Kisii town, on the meandering tarmac stretches and green leafy agricultural farms.
  • Spend the night at Itibo Resort

Day 2

  • Have breakfast at Itibo
  • Kisii to Rusinga Island -211km
  • 50/50 on and offroad
  • Ride along Lake Victoria all the way.
  • Local food for lunch at Karungu

 

Day 3

  • Breakfast at Rusinga Island Lodge
  • Rusinga Island to Kisumu-200km
  • 50/50 on and offroad
  • The ride will still be around the villages along the Lake.
  • Lunch at Kendu Bay (local joint)
  • Spent the night at Wigot Hotel

Day 4

  • Kisumu to Bungoma-200km
  • 40/60 On road/off-road
  • Visit Kit Mikayi
  • Stop for lunch at Busia, before proceeding to Bungoma.
  • Spend the night at Tourist hotel, Bungoma

Day 5

  • Bungoma to Eldoret through Kakamega
  • 60/40 0ffroad/Onroad
  • Breakfast at the Tourist Hotel, Bungoma.
  • Pass through Kakamega forest.
  • Have lunch at Kapsabet, before proceeding to Mlango Waterfall.
  • Head to Eldoret town, where you will spend the night at a good hotel in the city center, Sirikwa Hotel.

Day 6

  • Breakfast at Sirikwa hotel
  • Eldoret to Nakuru through Iten-263km
  • 60/40 on road/off-road.
  • Have a view of the Kerio Valley, from the highest points in Iten, popularly known as the home of Champions. Temperatures here get low. Warm clothing is a MUST.
  • Stop at Chebloch Gorge and see divers dive over 75 feet.
  • Proceed to Lake Bogoria, boil a few eggs in the hot springs.

Day 7:

  • Breakfast at Breeze Hotel
  • Nyahururu to Mount Kenya through Meru
  • 309km
  • 80/20 On road/Off-road
  • Enjoy the view of Mount Kenya, from the Southern part and appreciate the peak of the mountain.
  • Ride to o Lake Ellis, on Mount Kenya.
  • Night at Anabas Lodge, Mount Kenya.

Day 8.

  • Rest at Anabas Lodge
  • Service motorcycles and explore the surrounding on foot as we take a break from the saddle.

Day 9.

  • Breakfast at Lowlands Hotel
  • 310 Km
  • 90/10 On road/Off-road
  • Ride to Machakos through Mwingi, enjoying the magical view of Kamba land.
  • Lunch in Mwingi.
  • Spend the night at Tea Tot Hotel, in Machakos

Day 10.

  • Breakfast at Tea Tot Hotel
  • 270Km to Kajiado, Olelek Farm House
  • 50/50 On road/off-road
  • It is a day of extreme riding, crisscrossing the semi-arid terrain of Kajiado and Machakos County. Lots of valley crossing and sandy trails.
  • Lunch will be snacks, due to lack of a descent hotel in the bush

Day 11

  • Breakfast at Olelek farm house.
  • 230km
  • 50/50 On road and Off-road
  • Ride along Amboseli National Park to Kimana, and check out some wildlife
  • Snacks for lunch in the bush
  • Spent the night at Hillstone Safari Lodge

Day 12

  • Breakfast at Hillstone resort
  • 212km
  • 50/50 Off-road On-road
  • Ride to Lake Chala, a crater lake on the border of Kenya and Tanzania
  • Have lunch in Taveta
  • Proceed to Voi through Tsavo West National Park. Enjoy game along the way as you cruise
  • Head to Afrika lodges, in Voi

Day 13

  • Breakfast at Afrika Lodges, Voi.
  • Ride to Diani through Kinango, and Shimba hills
  • 266km
  • 70/30 On road/Off-road
  • Spent the night at Flamboyant Diani.

Day 14.

  • Rest in Diani and swim in the beautiful sandy beaches
  • Short ride to Kongo river estuary, one of the feeder rivers to the Indian Ocean
  • Evening farewell party on the beach
  • Night at the hotel

Day 15

  • A ride from Diani to Nairobi through Mombasa.
  • Longest tarmac ride, 514Km
